Hello, and welcome to the HMS Demographics site. This site is intended to be used by HMS staff and students in order to better understand the current conditions faced by the young women and men served by HMS staff. This is a clearinghouse for all the information we collect and reflect upon through the years.
- For educators, this site is intended to improve our understanding of the lived experiences faced by our students.
- For learners, this site is intended to improve our understanding of our lived experiences by looking at our neighborhoods through different "lenses."
All of us know there is a LOT of data out there. Usually, we see it presented in reports or in charts that numerate (people who are good at and enjoy math) can understand with ease. Since not everybody understands the world clearly through numbers, our data will exist in map form as much as possible. When possible, we will also include pictures to help ground our action research in the real world.
